Langston Hughes (February 1, 1902-May 22, 1967.)
Langston Hughes was a famous poet and playwright during the early 20's. Hughes just as many contributors to the Harlem Renaissance fought for the equality of negro citizens making their voice heard through various pieces he composed. Hughes was mostly known for his Chicago column The Chicago Defender which outright spoke for social justice of blacks making their voices heard through his literary works. |
